I'm loving our latest assignment in Computer Arts; create a digital brick wall, then scatter the bricks and create flames and smoke to make it seem like it exploded. I kept hearing "evil overlord" laughter from various spots around the room throughout the class period.
In other news: our house seems to be under attack. From acorns. For some reason, the oaks in our backyard seem to have had a very productive year, and are hailing the fruits of their labor down among us. So it sounds like people are throwing rocks at our windows, since acorns have a tendency to bounce off of wooden decks.
Also: I've finished the 7th Harry Potter book! About time, you might say, but now I can read all the DH- related stuff I didn't look at before! (Which I'm sure I'll get around to eventually.)

Found this in aspenlight's journal:
"The Washington Post's Style Invitational asks readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding or subtracting one letter, and supply a new definition. Here are the some recent winners . . .
Intaxication: (in taks' kä' shn) Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which lasts until you realize it was your money to start with.
Reintarnation: (re' in kãr nä' shn) Coming back to life as a hillbilly.
Bozone (n.): (bõ' zõn) The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of breaking down in the near future.
Foreploy: Any misrepresentation about yourself for the purpose of getting laid.
Cashtration (n.): The act of buying a house, which renders the subject financially impotent for an indefinite period.
Giraffiti: Vandalism spray-painted very, very high.
Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn't get it.
Inoculatte: To take coffee intravenously when you are running late.
Hipatitis: Terminal coolness.
Osteopornosis: A degenerate disease. (This one got extra credit.)
Karmageddon: It's like, when everybody is sending off all these really bad vibes, right? And then, like, the Earth explodes and it's like, a serious bummer.
Decafalon (n.): The grueling event of getting through the day consuming only things that are good for you.
Glibido: All talk and no action.
Dopeler effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.
Arachnoleptic fit (n.): The frantic dance performed just after you've accidentally walked through a spider web.
Beelzebug (n.): Satan in the form of a mosquito that gets into your bedroom at three in the morning and cannot be cast out.
Caterpallor (n.): The color you turn after finding half a grub in the fruit you're eating.
And the pick of the literature:
Ignoranus: A person who's both stupid and an asshole."
Original entry here.

We just got a laser printer. And all I can say is...
wow.
It's just...so fast!
Mom: *hit print* Printer: *sheet of paper comes rolling out, blank on the top* Me: Looks like it didn't print. *picks up the paper. The back side is covered with print* My mom & I: 0.0 Dad: Wahahahaha!!! You should see the looks on your faces!
(Prior to this we had an inkjet printer, which lumbered along like dinosaur compared to this thing.)

Weeeeell...my first thought was to close this journal, since I'm posting mostly on my deviantart journal, where most of my real-life friends are, and therefore provide more commiseration for my teenage existential angst, so I switched all my journal entries to "friends only" (excluding art posts). Now I've decided to give it a try again, but I'm too lazy to go back through my 83 entries to switch them back to public. Just think of it as a fresh start -_-;;.

You know, I give up on those new years resolution thingummies. I'm just hoping that 2007 will be even better than 2006, for everyone.
( clickety-click (if you happen to like KttK sketch fanart) )

More Keys to the Kingdom fanart. :)

An uncolored sketch this time. On binder paper too, hence the lines. I did try adding stars to the less solid sword, but it didn't work out and I just filled it in with black.
Feel like commenting? Have at it.

This pic started out as a sketch to test out this new tutorial I saw (it got rid of all the red, but the pencil remained). Then, because I really needed the practice, I colored it.
Tell me what you think.
( For those who don't know, Monday's Dawn is one of the characters in the Keys to the Kingdom series written by Garth Nix. )

I've been too busy enjoying the fact that summer is here and school is out to post. -_-;
Anyhow, here's a work in progress for an art contest on gaia - what do you think?
( ...I was never really cut out to be a fashion designer... )
